Reasons why I have a sliver of hope for a good outcome in Georgia:
1. Republicans were super motivated to vote for Trump. They care substantially less about Republicans in general.
2. The runoff is occurring at the height of a pandemic and Republicans are far less likely to cast absentee ballots.
3. Trump has spent the last several months undermining the integrity of Georgia's elections, attacking Georgia's Republican figureheads including its governor and secretary of state, to the extent that some Republicans in Georgia have no faith in the electoral process and believe their vote won't be counted.
That said, Georgia's Democrat voters are outnumbered and Democrats are notoriously bad at voting in non-presidential elections. It's also possible Trump's rhetoric will motivate Republicans to make it so lopsided that their pretend fraud will be difficult or impossible.
