I might actually be able to go along with laws against "hate speech" if they could precisely define what it is first, but they never do. Twitter has banned people for simply discussing whether giving young children hormone blockers is ethical or medically sound, citing it as "hateful content" and\or "hate speech".
I'd probably ultimately oppose any such law, because terrible people have a right to say their terrible things in this country and frankly I want them to so that I know who they are so I can avoid them. Trying to be charitable to the concept at least though.
It's pretty much perfectly in line with the current far left utopian delusion that they alone can fix all of society by banning everything they don't like.
