I think people who regret transition probably got into it for the wrong reasons. I reckon I've met cases like that. They are more like schizoaffectives who jumped into the wrong pool. Usually kind of weird, hypersexualized or extremely withdrawn, vaguely "creepy" but in a harmless sort of way.

As for myself, I am a highly educated individual who knew well what I was getting into and it was the best decision I ever made. I think you're wrong to say I "needed help" to avoid becoming a pretty girl who brings honor & joy to her husband. My whole situation functions pretty well and I am way more happy & self-confident, not to mention my net worth started swelling fast once I began getting my ducks in order. Before I got the help I got, I was very bitter, because I had this brief moment in my late teens-early 20s where I was beautiful and feminine and life was wonderful but then it faded fast. Fact is, I integrate into society better and my biology is better-aligned with my preferences. It beats being an aging superf@g by a longshot.

The story may well be different for less dedicated, less capable people; transitioning to female is extremely difficult and turning out beautiful requires strict dietary regimen (cutting BF% to the bone, til your brain is all scrambled with hunger, then reconstituting yourself under estrogen) and a lot of study. I tend to believe beauty is achievable by anyone, tho, with skillful styling and if necessary, aesthetic compromises. (I don't have to make too many of those, cause I'm a slender fashion model type)
