You didn't actually address anything I said. I don't disagree with any of that, he is a big doofus and doesn't know what he's doing. My critique is of how he's perceived. When one points out that obama deported more people than trump, and was leading the administration that constructed the "cages" which are erroneously attributed to trump, nobody stops and goes "Oh, okay, guess I was wrong, he's not literally hitler". It's just kind of ignored.

There's no accountability in the zeitgeist for being wrong about trump. If something he's accused of turns out to be untrue, nobody admits they were wrong. People don't like boring details, they want easily digestible black and white, good VS evil nuggets of pseudo-information, and I think that's a horrible tendency given the role the US plays on the global stage.
