It would be funny if that marshall applewhite guy didn't really believe any of that stuff and was doing the whole thing ironically.
Or if one of his followers came to him with concerns about their website's graphic design. "Listen, marshall, I'm totally looking forward to killing myself to board the comet-spaceship and everything, but that site... a little busy no?"
