The newspaper will report it as a kind of resettlement, colonization project in the asteroid belt with the goal of sending rare metals to our new megaarcology in the venetian clouds for the elite. Except it'll just be a few bots doing it all and the human bodies will be fermented to create biospheres for rich pleasure palaces.
