If you ever want to sound super-pretentious mention that they're using
sermo vulgaris which would most likely be historically correct. Sigh to signal your exasperation with the common arts always using
sermo latinus like it was a thing and say something witty about intellectual laziness. That and a good tweed can get you laid in certain university libraries.
