So one, you're arguing with people who decided they are the arbiters of "fair share" and who should pay what and who should have access to what. So you know, ideologues, proto-communists really. They're not rational, it's all dogma and as you pointed out, outrage, name calling and hate as soon as you step on their worldview.
You get a clue to their ignorance when they say stuff like "unimaginably wealthy". Yeah for them. They can't imagine having that much money or property or holdings. It's mind-boggling! Inconceivable!
Two, they're ignorant. They think money is a zero-sum game. They think people are poor not because of circumstances or because they're lazy or stupid but because other people have too much of it. Poor people can't get food at the foodbank because Bill Gates is holding all the dollars. That's literally how they view the economy. That because some people have control over huge properties or corporations or other holdings, that's why they suffer. Because there is a shortage of money.
It's all based in jealousy. People today live better than ever. Our most poor have resources unimaginable just a couple of generations before. But because they turn on their TV and see a guy on a solid-gold jetski and they start frothing at the mouth. Now their lives are so much worse because they know that.
