I have had this happen a few times. I call them 'crit buffs'. Sometimes I'll throw on a stat buff and my client will show me having 255 in the stat, but it doesn't really have any greater effect than a normal buff. Had it happen with HP buffs, stats, and resists.
I bet the normal max amount of HP that you wouldn't regen past was the normal max hp you should have had with all of your buffs.

Yeah, I think you are right. After I posted this I realized my max HP was higher than it should have been - still a bug, but a much more minor one. My max HP also corrected itself after zoning.
