At the point it happened at my house. Because I'm either home or on my way to and from the range, or I don't have a gun.
If you think the protests are peaceful you don't need a gun. If you think its a riot you shouldn't be there in the first place and should stay clear and let law enforcement handle it (or not handle it) as their policies dictate. Anything else shows your intent.
