I'm guessing you're not all that familiar with how farming and growing crops works or even what the lifestyle in the midwest is like. Listening to a CNN mouthpiece for 30 seconds doesn't make you an expert in whatever subject they gave a sound bite about.

This means nothing. Cost of living varies greatly from one place to another. A $7.25/hour earner would have to work 1000 hours a month to afford renting a house in my neighborhood. Nothing in my neighborhood is over 1500 square feet and all the houses are 60+ years old.....nothing fancy. Please compare apples to apples.
