What kind of goof even thinks the US is capitalist? Do you think fair competition really exists between big businesses and each other? Between big businesses and small businesses? Really, the USA is only capitalist in the sense that it is largely controlled by those who live off their wealth, and their capital controls large swathes of our economy and politics. Entire industries propped up by archaic laws and special interests, government-mandated monopolies layered upon monopoly-mandated governance.
Meanwhile, the working class, people like you (in this thread)-- and make no mistake, if you sell your labor to survive, you are working class-- get pitted against each other in the purest form of competition that actually exists in our system: labor vs. labor. Capitalist systems are designed such that wealth creates more wealth in an ever-recursive positive feedback loop. Hell, in the form of venture capitalism and 'angel investment', they even get a cut of and gatekeep every new idea and every innovation that enters the system.
It's really a pretty great paradigm if you're like me and were born rich and never really have to work for any other reason than personal development. Well, great in that people see merit where there isn't any and my inter-generational advantage is maximized. But fucking terrible in all other respects, because it's evil and unjust.
Again: If you sell your labor to survive, you are a peasant, and you are being exploited by capitalists. Those of you peasants who attack other peasants to defend capitalists are an extra layer of sad.
