Honestly I can't fathom how the story of Jesus isn't universally interpreted as extraterrestrial intervention.

Woman gets impregnated by the alien seed, aliens who have mastered biology & science far in excess of what we could ever imagine. They try to teach us a superior morality and guide the evolution of our culture. Uses his superior knowledge of xeno-chemistry to turn water into wine and beams down some food from the mothership, cures blindness with his superior medicine.

And then, being the savage child-race that we are, we kill him, but he's not actually dead because... alien master of biology or skin suit. No surprise that after tens of thousands of years of languishing as a race it is only after Jesus and the integration of his teachings into our culture that we truly begin to advance as a people.
