Early on in my experience with <Black Lotus>, there were a few telling things that tipped me off to just what kind of guild I had gotten myself into. Over time, my worries were confirmed and I figured it’s better late than never to say something about it. I really should have said something earlier to warn others, but life got busy. But here it is. My TOP 7 reasons why <Black Lotus> is the WORST guild on Green. I’ll stop at 7 because going further just makes me blow a gasket.

1. Still recruiting – How you gonna flex on other people as the most elite guild if your roster is still open. Elite = exclusive = don’t let any more people in. What’s wrong with you people?
2. Actively group – Look, I don’t want to see your face if it isn’t a raid. I don’t care if Efreeti is open. I don’t care if about-to-be-obsolote-ykesha Lord is open. Why do you spend time/effort here? Lady Vox AWAITS! I mean, you wait for her, but ya know what I mean.
3. Regularly donate – Members regularly give valuable gems, old gear, quest items, tradeskills combines, etc. to other members or to be auctioned off for DKP. Why are you screwing our economy? Why are you such freaking socialists? I camped the Dino for gems, but now I can DKP auction on a diamond wedding ring? Thanks for devaluing my hard work, chumps. One shmuck offered to /random or DKP auction a Manastone at a raid if the guild would get together and raid PoO (priest of order.) Freaking idiot. How many melees could he twink in near-BIS gear in classic with 1 manastone?
4. Comedy – You think your constant joking is effective for a functioning guild? You think “shooting the breeze” in comms is somehow conducive to dragon slaying? I got 20 seconds to count before I recast mez on this abhorrent which will cut me stem to stern killing me in a few seconds if I don’t. By the time I count to 15 there’s some sarcastic remark or glib chatter. If I wanted the Seinfeld or Chapelle act, I know the appropriate channel. Stop interrupting my counting, fool.
5. Actively communicate on raids – Look dudes, I am 1,000 years old in elf years. I’ve slayed tens of thousands of dragons and got the RL tattoo on my back to prove it. If the new players don’t know which wall to hide behind, which potion to hit, which gear to wear, or whatever, they ain’t 1337 enough. See point 1.
6. Share about real life – I don’t want to see pictures of your BBQ. I don’t want to know the latest interesting thing you've learned. I don’t want to hear your top fantasy book recommendations. How do you have so much mindspace for things other than dragonslaying. ARE YOU EVEN COMMITTED?! Trash!
7. Make new people feel welcome – Stop giving gear, advice, and time to new apps/members. New recruits should go through the BOOTCAMP experience like a green beret to see if they are tough enough, resourceful enough, and knowledgeable enough to hang. Black Lotus is slaying dragons and gods every week. Fate of Norrath rests on your shoulders. You can’t have soft recruits!

It's all true... We have Tiale/Relbro who goes out of his way everyday to help others with Rez, caps, trader, etc. We have Alion who won Guildy of the month every month til we made him an officer, we have Fray/Melchoir who makes us roll our eyes with all the bad puns and dad jokes. We have Faerie who logs on from her busy life to make jewelry for us. It is the best guild ever if you are into selflessness and promoting a sexy and nerdy eq fun time environment.
