I used a Jade mace up to level 20, then switched to PWC. But None of you have mentionned the Poison Wind Censer yet. I thought it was the leveling shaman weapon of choice to level up to 50

Currently using either Runed Morningstar/ Howling Harpoon + Sarnak Battle Shield or PWC.

Just a quick question, correct me if I'm wrong please. if I start saving for a Spear of Fate MQ, wouldn't it be a waste of pp to try and get a fungi staff too ? I guess it will always sell well, but I'm wondering if it would not be the better choice to keep what I already have (more so since I soon won't be able to keep meleeing mobs much longer) and aim for epic and and skip the alternative ? Though i agree savig the man for Chloro / Regrowth would be sweet.

Thanks again for your answers guys
Thanks for the post! I somehow misread the priest damage tables, I was looking at the melee tables.

Levels 1-9: Priest damage cap is 9. This means https://wiki.project1999.com/Jade_Mace or https://wiki.project1999.com/Smoldering_Brand would be the best for levels 1-9. I still like the +45 HP on the https://wiki.project1999.com/Guard_Captain%60s_Mallet , but you are correct, the ratio on the mallet isn't quite as good as I thought in this level range.

Levels 10-19: Priest damage cap is 12. This means https://wiki.project1999.com/Rune_Etched_Icewurm_Fang is still your best option here. Don't think there are any other weapons that have 12+ damage, and less than 19 delay.

Levels 20-29: Priest damage cap is 20. That is where https://wiki.project1999.com/Poison_Wind_Censer shines. It has been so long since I leveled up, my memory seemed to suggest I didn't upgrade to Granite Face Grinder simply due to my lack of funds, rather than the damage cap.

Levels 30-39: Priest damage cap is 26. This is where https://wiki.project1999.com/Granite_Face_Grinder becomes better. GFG has a SLIGHTLY better ratio as a 26/36, you get +5 STR, +10 WIS, and you lose the -30 PR.

Levels 40+: Priest damage cap is 40. This is where https://wiki.project1999.com/Herbalist's_Spade is awesome. This is kind of where Melee starts to fall off, but it is a big boost while you are still doing Melee.

To answer your question about https://wiki.project1999.com/Fungi_Covered_Great_Staff , this item is a game changer until you get your Epic. You can easily sell it for about the same price you bought it for, when you are ready to get your Epic.

Here are the benefits to Fungi Staff:
1. It is effectively a Flowing Thought 2 item for Shamans. You save 1200 mana per hour by not casting Regrowth every 15 minutes for 300 mana.
2. You get free regeneration all the time. It is even a junk buff. Gets dispelled? Instant cast it back on.
3. It doubles as a global cooldown refresh item. This means you can get rid of your https://wiki.project1999.com/Shrunke..._Skull_Earring and get a bit more HP/Mana from that slot.
4. When paired with https://wiki.project1999.com/Black_Fur_Boots , you can instantly remove the Snare/Regeneration from Fungi Staff and run away.
5. Any stat boost you get from wearing other items do not make up for the benefits listed above.

Before you get Torpor, saving mana is HUGE. The more mana you save, the less canni dancing you need to do. That means more kills per hour. More kills per hour means more money per hour, and thus a faster path to your Epic.
