This is a museum piece that the curators allow the public to wander around in and interact with as long as certain rules are followed.

So much nonsense on these forums because folks don't seem to grasp this concept.

The purpose is not to entertain you, the purpose is to entertain them.

You are tolerated, because the curators have found that some folks actually have the same appreciation for the artwork that they do, and they want those folks to be able to see it.
