You'd like to think that there's just people out there partying it up in significant numbers, but that just isnt the case. This shelter in place never worked because it was never designed to work against this irrelevent virus. It was designed to kill small business operating on a narrow cash flow basis and concentrate employment into mega corps. Why do y9u think the large majority of forgiveness loans went out to mega corps? Why do you think McDonalds was allowed to continue serving others while private restaurants were ordered to shut down and pay their lease regardless of closed operations?
No one thinks that.

Why do I think the majority of loans went to mega-corps? Because the government is practically owned by big corporations at this point and both sides are really only in politics to make vast amounts of money for themselves while vaguely parroting their party sentiments enough for people to think they're helping.

Small businesses would've been fine if they were provided adequate federal aid and if the general population was capable of empathy and followed basic precautions they largely could've remained open. My favorite local restaurant had staff cleaning every seat and table after each guest left, seated guests sufficiently apart, wore masks and gloves when providing people food, and kept a reasonable distance from patrons at all times. They absolutely could've remained open and just continued those efforts. It would've still been a hit, but with adequate aid and safety precautions allowing them to stay open as long as people abide by them they'd sure be in a better position now.

My point was that its going to rage on longer because people won't adhere to these precautions, that every day there's some fucking rally of people protesting against lockdown it only perpetuates the lockdown, and if people took it seriously and quarantined immediately, if the government took it seriously and started ramping up testing and contact tracing and could isolate areas that had it to prevent the spread, this could've been handled significantly more quickly, with fewer bailouts needed, less unemployment, and less death.
