My name was actually not inspired by reptar, though my surname did spend a decent time as Ektar Reptar (and Ektar Buckethelmtar, but that's because they ninja-patched the non-classic method of re-naming yourself every week while I had that retarded surname up).
The inspiration actually comes from an old TV show called The Visionaries, in which a character's name is Ektar (at least that's how I spelled it when I was a little kid). That show likely took that name from the story of King Arthur, with Ector (I believe that's the spelling) being Arthur's trainer, or something like that.
