You've missed the point entirely. The point was never that epics were
necessary: that's your straw man. As an aside though:
c'mon. People like playing their characters and getting epics: it's a part of EQ, and it's insanely hard for certain classes. This isn't rocket science ... it's a
game.
But the real point is, someone made a comment about
the game ... and again, I think it's hard to argue it wasn't a completely rational and logical comment. And you attacked the
person for a perceived moral failing (of wanting welfare pixels). It's not at all atypical here, but it just annoys me because attacking people personally, when they're trying to talk about the game, only lowers the level of dialogue for everyone. It's like we've gone back to elementary school where "your mom is fat" is a legitimate retort.
