For some it is, though not a disease but genetic; those that deal with it all the time. Thing is, everyone gets bouts of depression at one time or another, often due to chemical imbalance or just learning to deal with situations. Any person here is potentially at some point on a doctors prescription recommendation and labeled as having some incurable lifelong disease (~98% misdiagnosis). Meds are highly over prescribed and they are dangerous with their horrid side effects that alter the mind for everyone differently (which can cause suicidal thoughts). In most cases, it's simply about proper diet and exercise for the fix. But meds are big business, and telling someone to at least just get out and get fresh air is anti-productive for the industry.
