Come to think of it, another good reason for stripping the logs is the size limitation. I believe if your logs are over 2MB you cannot upload it. Stripping out the auction data should allow you to upload well within the 2MB limit. Most of my logs are over 6Mb so unless that 2MB limit is wrong, I wouldn't be able to upload my log.
