The rabid animals things has to do with the fact that you can't stop personal attacks. You've been warned many times, banned, your buddies are serving bans. I see it as animalistic because it's moving far away from 'reason' and 'argument' which, to me, define, humanity.

Everyone has their reasons, their rationale. The men responsible for the Reign of Terror had some arguments, but they were still monsters. It's not some discrete objective quality, you have to explain your reasoning, not just proclaim it. And then see how it plays.
It is ours to decide which ones slap and which are jive.
