Anything that has either good exp or good loot is poopsocked 24-7. These groups all seem insular and circle jerk each other or something.

This is just part of the classic EverQuest experience. You either come to terms with the fact that you need to buy the best loot off of damaged pixel junkies or you quit playing. Never assume that you'll ever be able to camp any halfway decent spawn yourself and try to find the fun where you can. Step away from the poopsockers and a whole new world opens up for you, filled with cool EverQuest nerds who will give you the shirt off their back.
