In terms of "build" short life, the only decision you have to make is how to spend your ability points, and if you consult the wiki for your class it will tell you the suggested way and you absolutely will not go wrong with that for your first guy. Everything else regarding character progression you don't have to worry about because progress is very slow and you'll have plenty of time to consult top men in the game. Top men!
