The ogres are not inept in battle and have the blessings of many spirits.
I have felt privileged at times to gain their blessings in exchange for my enchantments of protective mists.
While grateful in their exchanges, their stench is unbearable. I find it amusing when our common enemies must face them at close range.
I have sought answers in deep meditation to tell if their civilization can recover from the curse set upon them. Visions may not always adhere to the twists of fate, and the following shall remain to be seen:
Quote:
With the success of the Tunarian campaign of giants, orcs and ogres, Warlord Murdunk was visited by Eriak Zek who suggested he set his sights on The Planes
His initial invasion failed and it is said that Eriak Zek was forced from the Plane of Earth. Rallos Zek was not content to wait for Eriak to rebuild his strength so he used two famous Orcs (Tallon/Vallon) who joined Rallos and Murdunk in a second invasion
This second attempt was so successful they even captured some of the Council of Rathe and Rallos Zek attempted to claim the Plane of Earth as his own (which failed and permanently scarred/disfiguired Rallos due to the earthern wards that protected the Plane of Earth)
Though despite this loss, some of the council were captured. It was then, in the landscape that would be known as Mountains of Rathe, they were executed. This led to two important events:
1) The Barrier to the Planes of Power was raised preventing mortals access
2) All the Zek and Rallosian armies were cursed by the Gods (whether or not the goblins were anxefan prior to this is, we don't know)
Tallon and Vallon begged for aid from Rallos who brought them into his plane to escape the curse. He tore the escence of Eriak and used it to elevate Tallon and Vallon to demi-god status
The majority of tunarian giants had their home in the northlands (permafrost) and suffered the curse, save the Kromzek who fled across the ocean to Velious
The ogres abandoned their fortress of Krithgor and settled in the Feerott. Some remained in Butcherblock. The simplicity of the structures of Oggok would denote they were already cursed by the time they arrived there
This all happened just before Erollisi travelled to the northlands and gave birth to the first barbarians ~ 4500 AN - 4600 AN
Now... my vision jumps to the future
The veil of Veeshan began to fade and the mortals gained access to the Plane of Sky (i believe mistmoore was involved in this)
Teir'Dal with the aid of the Scroll of G'harn led to communing with Innoruuk and accessing the Plane of Hate
Then a group of hooded figures seeking a lost God of Knowledge got aid from Quellious to access an area of the Plane of Knowledge (Tanaan). This then led to the other planes and, eventually, Zebuxoruks new prison, the Plane of Time
Following the events of the releasing of Zebuxoruk. In one reality, the events of the Planes of Power were reversed and the Gods abandoned their followers. Unhappy with the results of the Planes of Power campaign by Mortals, Solusek Ro and Rallos Zek planted a strange device on Luclin and it shattered the moon into pieces causing massive calamities across norrath
During this time the curse dropped on the Ogres as the Gods vanished (out of fear) and their intelligence slowly began to return.

So it may come to pass that the gods are defeated within their realms, and the ogres freed from their curse. What that means for us all, is not clear beyond this.
