This seems to be a common misconception. I had it too, but I started in Velious so I have an excuse (when I played F10
did alternate between UI mode and no-UI mode, just like it does today on Blue). All y'all who actually played in classic, what's your excuse?

Seriously though, in classic apparently if you pressed F10 you actually saw something fairly close to the current Green UI. It's just that (I guess) most people didn't try pressing F10 in classic.
