If you went to a pond and swam for 10 years your skill would remain at (0)
You would have to go to a guildmaster and train in swimming (1) before you could skillup on your own.
Is this from classic? Did I get this instinct from another era I played through on live? Is it like that movie Yesterday where the beetles never existed, and in this case this feature never existed in this timeline? I don't know I would believe any of those.

I will say this: I just came back to playing on Tuesday and even though my Sense Heading was mapped to my WASD keys, it never leveled up. i went and trained 1 point into it and, viola, it's at 136 now....
