According to Everlore's bestiary for West Freeport, a few wolves were known to spawn in its newbie yard.

Wolves are the toughest newbie monster in West Freeport. They spawn about 1/4 as many times as Dathfist Pawns do, which means you probably won't see more than 2 running around at the same time. Newbies keep an eye out for them, as they can make short work of anyone levels 1-4 if they're not careful. These will probably propel you into Level 5, however, so if you're tough you may want to take a few down. You can loot Ruined Wolf Pelts and the occasional Mist Wolf Pelt from them.
