No real threat of death, you run back to the corpse as a ghost that can't be attacked. The game is setup as a themepark instead of a sandbox. The leveling will take you around to new places and in those new places will be town NPC's with a question mark above their heads. You will get your quests from them as questing is the primary means of leveling, not grinding a camp or zone like EQ.

There is an active quest tracker to help you keep up, no one reads these as the quest area/mobs to kill will pop up in your map and lead you to them. What you need to do will be labeled on your active quest tracker, just complete what it wants and return to the quest NPC for rewards and some xp. You don't have to learn the lay of the land or check maps/spawns on a wiki site.

The game keeps you moving from place to place. All of your spells/ability can be on the hotbars at the same time. There is no spell book. There is no need for food/water except for boosts. All classes get a "gate" ability they can use every so often to return to town. Some of your dungeons are instanced so you will not have to share. You can also level up and raid without speaking to another soul so you can avoid the neckbeards as much as possible.

The artstyle is specifically WoW, this is when Blizzard changed up their style to be more pleasing. Its cartoonish but not offensive or grim. Later games such as Diablo 3 are said to have been improved due to this change. Wow is the more accessible MMO"RPG" and for many it was their first game of this type.

Shoulder armor is large. You can be a skeleton undead. Leeroy Jeeeenkins.
