Pompeo says “military action is possible” in Venezuela if Maduro doesn’t step down

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo just made the most explicit case yet that the Trump administration may use military force to dislodge Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro from power.
It’s perhaps the most aggressive stance so far by an American official during the months-long standoff between a US-backed challenger and the socialist dictator.
Yeah this type of rhetoric couldn't be construed as assisting or initiating regime change, you know pressuring rightful leaders of other countries to hand over power to pro-american allies
My turn for a question, what interest does initiating or assisting regime change in Venezuela do to assist joe tax payer Mr. "GOP dindu nuffin"?

Rightful, huh? Stacking the courts, limiting the power of the legislature, and using the military to retain the presidency isn’t legitimate. I honestly wouldn’t care except for the Russians and Chinese having a military presence in the Western Hemisphere. The Monroe doctrine actually does make sense
Also, Venezuela under Chavismo was only successful with $120+ a barrel oil. They are corrupt. That doesn’t excuse our actions, but there isn’t a “right” or moral side in Venezuela. Millions are leaving, and even without sanctions, that would be the case since their economy can’t run at current oil prices
Ironically, the oil price spike that will happen as a result of TRUMP having an irrational hatred of Iran might actually bailout the Maduro government. Trump is definitely no Armenian. He’s probably Irish
