You know, I never thought of EQ 1 as a cool person magnet, but I will say that the P99 people are great! A toon named Chuq gave me some starting plat (that I shamefully spent on stupid stuff), and a couple of passing Dwarfs (or were they halflings...) in Everfrost gave me some buffs. As a complete EQ1 newbie, it's gestures like those that make me want to stay on here and make friends
