"the country can afford" what the market dictates it shall afford. Universal basic income, healthcare etc is an inevitability. It is cheaper & better than extermination, repression or chaos.
When you agitate for Lenin, you are joining the corpus of violence and threatening political instability which drives that market force that dictates we'll eventually buy off the plebs. It's not evil per se, so long as the system is indeed flexible enough that it decides to purchase your civility before it's too late and your ideas start piking up heads. But it's aggressive and it's undignified. it's threatening violence to get what you want.
there is no cause for righteous indignation. we are leaves blowing in the wind my dear. let the process go at its own speed. let the system have its time to flex to the new reality, instead of pushing pushing and risking the big "snap". let people who can't grasp the risk do the agitating, as slowly as possible. I know you are eager to see the inevitable future "capitalism of plenty" (it will be way better than today) but chilllll before you break the damn thing. you, be patient and focus your work on yourself and your nice body.
