Actually, what we need is to abolish parties all together. Have each candidate succeed or fail on their own merits or lack thereof. Right now, most politicians are beholdened to their party for fear of being voted out, or fear of being blackballed by their party.

End of division? Their are many different views. Some of those views overlap and some don't. But, what we have now is those various views having to be pigeon holed into the two parties.
