I see it more as me being a flawed human being with flawed memory as a result (in part) from doing drugs (to be fair my memory sucked long before I ever started smoking) ... and I'm just admitting as much. This is very true, but ... having gone from like 54 to 60 there over the course of like a month (and then, even at 60, finding relatively few options for earning safety XP) I have to say that despite all its flaws, it's very difficult to match the leveling speed of the pits.
