If your goal is simple deceptions (or even extravagant ones) or manipulation I suppose that would be true. If your goal however is something objectively nobler liek truth or understanding, then the ability to lie is not wonderful at all. The problem with lying is that it is a pathological behavior. The more you do it, the easier it becomes. At some point you begin lying to yourself (because, why no t? you're lying to everyone else!) and then you reach a point at which your worldview becomes so thoroughly distorted that you are unable to distinguish truth from delusion. You of course know all this though and we're just trying to get me type a paragraph you won't read ^^
