Do you not realize that this is an ex post facto judgment? Obviously there was a very high chance it was going to be nothing, and very small chance that it was going to be a life threatening encounter, which on expectation makes it a lot more dangerous than buying groceries, if not so dangerous as storming the beaches of Normandy. If you blasely open your door at 4 AM, it's because you live in a safe area. SC obviously does not.
Also Mead, I tend to agree with you on the facts. I doubt a jury would consider ringing the doorbell to be assault. Sliding your pistol out a crack in the door is hardly heroic. But why are you totally unconcerned about the bankers' intentional destruction of the American middle class? And why are you incapable of sympathy for someone on the receiving end?
