Giving your note to your GM can have very little positive consequence and very bad negative faction hits, depending on your race/class combo. I would say never hand in your note unless you know exactly what you're doing.

I have never heard this and played EQ from 1999 til middle of GoD expansion. I'm wondering where the negative faction hits come from, being you only get positive faction when you turn the note in and thats the end of the "quest".
