But if you are dead set on gnome, consider going Brell deity so you can have access to that superfucking sweet dwarven cultural armor. as a gnome you wont be allowed in evil cities anyways and going brell shouldnt hurt you. even zek is cool because of that human cultural stuff

And I have to add Tinkering and making/recharging them is super expensive
