100% agree. Ldon traded the concept of going down in to a dungeon for interconnected hallways. Ldon also ended quests and loot drops to be replaced with merchant rewards.
Ldon's release marks the end of true classic Everquest.

At the time we thought it was great but looking back I really dislike it. EQ was already dead at this point. Prefer the D&D style dungeons of classic like Guk, Perma, Befallen, Sol(s). Traps, false walls/floors and the overall style to them. LDoN was boring but it fed the reward mechanism people have which is in game design now. Instances do not belong in EQ, ever.
