I do really like the social aspect of crossfit. My last girlfriend was big into crossfit. I would go to her competitions, hang out, and meet a lot of good people. Nothing about it made me want to participate though.

I felt the same way until a work pal finally made me sign up (he owned a box before joining the ranks of public service). Coming from a BB background, the idea of throwing in 50 oly lifts among a ton of other exercises in 1 workout made me cringe. I also need my back for the next 20 years (patients seem to be getting heavier and heavier) so I was always afraid of injury.
I have definitely enjoyed my time there and there's definitely a sense of camaraderie and competition between everyone. I've also lost about 30 pounds and definitely stronger than I ever was. Yesterday I was C&J 103kg for reps.
