There's an article here ( http://techcrunch.com/2009/01/18/why...mployees-quit/) about why people quit working at Google, and most of them seemed to enjoy their time there. They do work you hard, though. One employee said, "But along with the food came the Google lifestyle: if you were staying for dinner, it better be because you were working afterwards. It was frowned upon to leave right after dinner." It still sounds like a fun place to work, but you won't be playing on the slides all day. |
Still better than many current careers in a technology related field. I am expected to work late when asked, which happens more and more since the so called "recession" was the reason half of my team was let go. Yay for donating more time/energy to company...
Even with all of the caveats, Google seems like a dream job.
