you might. but it's not a requirement. you will have to deal with ppl raging on you in ooc, calling you an idiot/horrible player/whatever they can to try and get you mad, if you disagree with them, if you kill them, or if you get killed in some random pvp.
some deal by turning into douches themselves (it actually does work for some ppl) and others learn to ignore the e-douches and just go about their business, remembering to kill them later
so yea, they are there.. but not really a big deal unless you let them get to you.

Some people get afraid of pvp and fear the mobs that low newbies exp off to halt their lvling
