Ranger can solo to 60. They get free loot on raids. Nothing wrong with them.

For anyone who doesn't plan on 60 or raiding, Rangers are a lot of fun and shouldn't be discouraged. You'll have to pay attention more than most other classes, so that's a deal breaker for some. Tons of utility and decent damage, though. A good ranger brings plenty of reasons to have in a group.
