I was having a ton of errors during my original install of the game client due to having installed it in Program Files in the windows directory, this reflected in some log files reaching huge sizes due to the endless error logs being dumped (I was once at over 10gigs in error log files)
As soon as I got it out from there everything worked perfectly.
This MIGHT be your issue? Have you checked to see the client is far away from the windows directory?
