Capitalism is the best system if you ignore the one that drags backwater countries into first rate world powers despite unholy global alliances stacked against it.
edit: My problem with IRAs is that you giving away huge portions of this investment income to a firm that isn't actively managing the assets...they are just charging you for a computer to run your money for you. You take all the risk -- they take 2% compound or so.
One of the things I've heard socialist in other countries argue for -- is better regulation on these kind of inactively managed investment tools.
Which leads me to a much more serious point I need to make: Capitalism needs constant regulation and law enforcement. A huge part of our problems currently is the sheer amount of illegal behavior taking place in this economy. Collusion, tax evasion, and other kinds of white collar crime are unchecked. And that's why surveillance is ultimately in the cards.
