Thanks for your concern, but it is quite possible to MQ a VP key to a character that has absolutely 0 pieces completed. For those curious, the way it works is as follows.
The character you want keyed meets up with my bard in WW where I give you the burnished wooden stave and charm the mob for you to hand it in to receive a piece of the obulus medallion. From there, we go to BW and MQ the obulus medallion to your character. After that, the final turn in is done in TT where the tooth, jarsath, and kylong medallions are all handed in first. Then your character hands in the obulus medallion to receive the completed VP key.
I've done it sucessfully this way many times so it definitely works. If anyone has any other questions or concerns feel free to ask!
