I don't know Dexs well, and have absolutely no first hand factual knowledge regarding his supposed boxing - I will say that on a number of occasions I have convinced friends who play WoW or what not to log in characters for me and toss me buffs every 15 minutes or so. Like wise, I have done the same for friends. It isn't hard to toss someone buffs every now and then while doing home work or watching a movie. Hell, I've been petitioned a number of times because Loke and my old wizard alt Ioke were logged in at the same time and people assumed I was boxing.
While I agree that it is unlikely I could personally convince one of my gaming buddies to stay logged in for countless hours every day PLing me - I don't think I'd have any problem convincing a few to do it if they were playing other games, hanging out in vent and thus at their computer anyway. Maybe Dex is just more persuasive or has better friends than you or I.. /shrug.
