I fight it too. Nothing really you can do about it. Besides switch it to window mode. Only reason I deal with it is because I play on my TV and don’t have a second monitor for my living room rig.
Best thing I can suggest is set the resolution in your ini the same across the board so the game doesn’t have to switch from your native to login reso to game reso and back out for real game reso.
