I think OP has more potential than what is being shown in these anime dub overs.
They'd be a little more entertaining if the dub over was seamless and the added text meshed well within the natural art of the cartoon.
Instead, it's like taking the Mona Lisa painting, then writing "Mona Lisa" on a post-it note then smashing that above her head, all the while saying in a creepy nerd voice "Mona Lisa" while hiding behind the painting, pretending to be her.
Mona Lisa... Mona Lisa... Mona Lisa...
It just doesn't work for me.
