So you had an incoming chanter who is capable of lulling...
You also had a cleric capable of rezzing if the chant died on the way ...
And yet you felt it was prudent to clear all the way up?
Ignoring the fact that your group DIDN'T want to clear up, how does that even make sense? The whole group including the rep would have ended up ahead by rezzing in the chanter.

Aside from that point, looks like there were a lot of angsty man-children in that group lacking social skills.
